Notes: Always introduce new foods gradually and keep an eye on your dog for any reactions. If you’re unsure about any of the ingredients, check with your veterinarian first. Practise safe food handling and storage, especially when working with fresh ingredients. If your dog can’t have raw food, simply gently cook the ingredients instead! For dogs with specific protein allergies, you can easily swap with your dog’s preferred protein. Make sure your dog has access to plenty of fresh water.

Bowie’s Mock Caviar

Ingredients
250ml (1 cup) carrot and apple juice (no added sugar)
Optional: You can also add fresh ginger and turmeric to the juice
2 tsp gelatin powder
Dog-safe, unflavoured oil (chilled)
Instructions
- Bloom the gelatin.
- Dissolve the gelatin in the juice by gently heating the mixture over low-medium heat. Stir occasionally until the gelatin is fully dissolved. Remove from heat and allow it to cool.
- While the mixture cools, pour the chilled oil into a tall glass or jar and place it in the freezer for about 10–15 minutes.
- Pour the cooled gelatin mixture into a squeeze bottle.
- Remove the oil from the freezer and gently squeeze droplets of the mixture into the cold oil to form caviar-like pearls.
- Once all the mixture has been used, strain the pearls and rinse them gently with cold filtered/drinking water to remove excess oil.
- Transfer pearls to an airtight container, cover with a little cold filtered/drinking water, and refrigerate until ready to use.
