Dog health and nutrition are not just my passion; they are my calling.
As a certified canine nutritionist and guardian to my Labrador, Bowie, I am on mission to spread joy through ‘Good Food’, inspiring, empowering and helping dog parents so they can nourish their dogs, one bowl at a time. Through my experience with Bowie, I’ve witnessed firsthand the healing power of whole foods, and I truly believe that good health starts with good food. So, it’s as simple as that – I strive to make ‘Good Food’ for dogs!
Good food should taste good, look good and most importantly make our dogs feel good!
Food is more than just fuel. It is information that triggers a whole host of metabolic processes and release of hormones. With 70–80% of the immune system located in the gut, it is vital to provide our dogs with a nutritious and appropriate diet. A healthy gut results in a robust immune system, helping to prevent chronic diseases and leading to longer longevity and a better quality of life for our dogs. The foundation of a nutritious diet lies in selecting high-quality, nutrient-dense ingredients, meaning opting for a species-appropriate diet, whole foods over highly processed foods and avoiding inflammatory foods – that’s the ‘golden rule’ when I formulate recipes and make dog food.
'Food made with love not only nourishes the body but also the soul.'
The food we feed our dogs should nourish both their bodies and souls, evoking joy, pleasure, connection and love. Our food is always made with plenty of love and care.
Every dog has unique biochemical and genetic makeup that influences their nutritional needs.
The AAFCO, FEDIAF and NRC standards provide nutritional guidelines for dogs and serve as starting points when formulating dog food. However, these standards do not address the unique nutritional needs of each dog, which are influenced by their genetics, lifestyle and environmental exposure to various stresses. Unless owners opt to make their own dog food, tailored diets are not readily available in the market. Recognising this gap, Master Bowie offer personalised and customised dog food and recipes tailored to each dog’s specific needs, formulated by a certified canine nutritionist.
Supporting our dogs’ health is an ongoing journey as they go through different life stages.
Life presents our dogs with daily challenges, often requiring adjustments in their diet to maintain their health and wellbeing. Master Bowie provide ongoing support to pet parents so they can best support their dogs’ health and wellbeing.
There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution.
Each dog owner is on a unique path and at different stages of their journey. It is essential to consider not only the needs of individual dogs but also the owners – their resources, choices, barriers and budget. Master Bowie work alongside dog owners without judgement to develop the best plan that suits them and their dogs. As their dogs’ guardians, they must feel confident in supporting their dogs’ health.
