Bowie & Friends

Ep.6 Canine Rehabilitation feat. Bowie & Rebecca Guy, Canine Therapist

Bowie injured his front left leg when he was about 14 months old, and his right hind leg 3 months after. He was diagnosed with supraspinatus tendinopathy and cranial cruciate ligament. Bowie was almost 2 years old when he was given a clean bill of health by his vet. Read ‘Bowie’s Injuries & Road to Recovery’.

As part of his treatment, Bowie had to have intensive laser therapy and rehabilitation sessions, coupled with at-home muscles strengthening exercises and stretches given by our vet and certified canine therapists.

For several months, our lives were spent in rehab, and we made friendship with the therapists there. Bowie actually enjoyed going to the rehab – he could say hello to Dusty, the resident dog and he got plenty of cuddles from the girls there. I’ve never seen a dog who loves going to the vet like Bowie.

Watch our interview with Rebecca Guy, one of Bowie’s canine rehabilitation therapists to talk about what she does, what she loves and finds hard about her job, and why she’s doing it.
